Grandmas creamy dessert

Grandmas creamy dessert, or La Cremina Della Nonna as this Italian dessert is called, is incredibly easy to make. It is silky soft, and quick to make, with few ingredients, much like all Italian cooking. It tastes lovely, but has a mild taste. Therefore, it will probably be appreciated by most people. You probably will not spend more than 10 minutes making it. Then let it stand cold for at least 3 hours. This is i.e., a perfect dessert to serve guests. You can easily make the finished day in advance, if you wish. The recipe gives dessert to 4-5 people.



250 g mascarpone
2 eggs
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar of good quality


1-2 tablespoons rum / brandy el. similar if desired.

La Cremina Della Nonna directions
  1. Divide the eggs into whites and yolks. Whisk the egg yolks together with the mascarpone, vanilla sugar and sugar until smooth. At this stage, you may also ad room / brandy or the like.
  2. Whip the egg whites until stiff, and turn them carefully with a spatula, together with the mascarpone cream.
  3. Distribute the cream in suitable serving bowls.
  4. Set the dessert cold in the fridge for at least 3 hours.


La Cremina Della Nonna served: Garnish with some berries, and sprinkle over some cinnamon. Serve with a good cup of espresso.

Allergy: Gluten free. Lactose. There is no lactose-free mascarpone, but there are many good neutral cream cheeses that are a good alternative. High FODMAP is based on lactose, and if you replace it with a lactose-free cream cheese, you get low FODMAP.
