Fried apples with custard

Fried apples is a lovely dessert, which is both healthy and low on calories. In addition, it cannot be better in a dessert because you get one of the daily-recommended fruit and vegetables . In other words a little Kinder egg. Furthermore, a super quick and easy dessert to make. Here dessert for two people.

Ingredients:

2 green apples (Firm apples like Granny Smith, Alpe Golden or the like depending on sweetness desired)
2 tablespoons demerara sugar (about 20 g)
2 tablespoons butter (about 20 g)
2 tablespoons sultanas (optional)

Cream
Some cinnamon
Custard (see separate recipe:  Custard )

Directions: Fried apples with custard
  1. Peel the apples and cut them shaped into boats or wedges.
  2. Combine sugar and butter in a frying pan; melt the sugar and the butter.
  3. Then add the apple. Fry on medium heat while turning them constantly. Fry until they start to become tender, but still keep their shape.

Served: Have the finished fried apples over in an appropriate dessert plate or bowl. Drizzle over frying juice. Sprinkle with sultanas; pour over a little custard. If desired you could also use vanilla or cinnamon ice cream and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream. Finally – sprinkle with a little cinnamon.

Allergy: Contains lactose if you use dairy milk and cream in the custard or the whipped cream. High on FODMAP. Apples contains a high amount of FODMAP. You can reduce the content by making a lactose free version, but the dessert will still have a high content of FODMAP.
