Fried apples with custard
Fried apples is a lovely dessert, which is both healthy and low on calories. In addition, it cannot be better in a dessert because you get one of the daily-recommended fruit and vegetables . In other words a little Kinder egg. Furthermore, a super quick and easy dessert to make. Here dessert for two people.
Ingredients:
2 green apples (Firm apples like Granny Smith, Alpe Golden or the like depending on sweetness desired)
2 tablespoons demerara sugar (about 20 g)
2 tablespoons butter (about 20 g)
2 tablespoons sultanas (optional)
Cream
Some cinnamon
Custard (see separate recipe: Custard )
Directions: Fried apples with custard
- Peel the apples and cut them shaped into boats or wedges.
- Combine sugar and butter in a frying pan; melt the sugar and the butter.
- Then add the apple. Fry on medium heat while turning them constantly. Fry until they start to become tender, but still keep their shape.
Served: Have the finished fried apples over in an appropriate dessert plate or bowl. Drizzle over frying juice. Sprinkle with sultanas; pour over a little custard. If desired you could also use vanilla or cinnamon ice cream and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream. Finally – sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
Allergy: Contains lactose if you use dairy milk and cream in the custard or the whipped cream. High on FODMAP. Apples contains a high amount of FODMAP. You can reduce the content by making a lactose free version, but the dessert will still have a high content of FODMAP.
