Caramel mud cake
Caramel mud cake is a juicy and sweet cake with a mild caramel flavour. This is an incredibly fast and easy cake to bake. You can basically mix all the ingredients in a kettle. The cake is suitable for freezing. The cake is called mud cake because it is juicy and a bit sticky.
Ingredients:
150 g butter
One box of caramelized condensed milk (approx. 390 g dulche de leche)
1 ½ dl demerarasugar (brown sugar)
½-teaspoon salt
2½ dl spelled flour
Three eggs
Directions: Caramel mud cake
- Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
- Stir in the caramelized milk, sugar, salt and flour.
- Add the eggs – one by one and stir in each egg. Stir until you get a smooth dough.
Pour the dough in to a round springform of approx. 23 cm. If you do not use non-stick pan, use baking paper or lubricate the mould beforehand.
Bake: 175 ˚C preheated oven. Middle groove for 30-40 minutes. Time depends on your oven and the mould size. The cake is ready when the cake stick is without cake residues. The cake should have a juicy core. If it gets dry, you have baked too long. This cake is supposed to be low – so do not despair if it is a little flat. That is how it should be
Caramel mud cake served: Cooled – with whipped cream
Allergy: Gluten and lactose. Made gluten-free by using gluten-free flour. It is not possible to make the cake lactose-free by my knowledge there is no lactose-free condensed milk available. High FODMAP is due to the lactose in the condensed milk.
